Hanuman Tok

Hanuman Tok (7,200 ft) is a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Hanuman, located about 5 km uphill from White Hall on a road branching off from the Gangtok-Nathula Highway. Along the way to the temple, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Gangtok and the surrounding hills.

From the temple itself, visitors can admire panoramic views of the snowy peaks of Khangchendzonga. Additionally, there's a bird's eye view of the Selep waterworks, which supplies drinking water to Gangtok town located a few hundred feet below Hanuman Tok. The temple is well-maintained by a unit of the Indian Army, ensuring cleanliness and tidiness.

Near the staircase leading to the Hanuman Temple is the cremation ground of the former royal family of Sikkim. This cremation ground is adorned with stupas and chortens, each marking the place where the mortal remains of the departed souls were cremated.
