The White Hall

The White Hall in Gangtok, Sikkim's capital, is a popular tourist attraction located on The Ridge, the city's highest point. It's about a 15-minute walk from Gangtok's main market. Built in 1932 during British colonization, the White Hall is one of the city's oldest buildings, dedicated to Sir John Claude White, Sikkim's first Political Officer.

The White Hall is a two-story structure featuring British-style architecture and houses a statue of Jawaharlal Nehru, India's late Prime Minister. Inside, there are recreational facilities like a badminton court and an Officers' Club.

One of the hall's highlights is the annual flower show held during spring. This event draws many visitors eager to see Himalayan flowers, orchids, and rhododendrons on display. It's a favorite destination for tourists wanting to experience the beauty of Sikkim's flora during the spring season.
